What this is

handmade near me searches Etsy once a day for things you name, pinned to a place you name, and tells you when a maker turns up there that you have not been shown before. It is free: no paid tier, no subscription, no advertising. It is not a shop and takes no payment — every purchase happens on Etsy, between you and the seller.

What “near” means here

It means whatever Etsy makes of the words you typed. This app does no geography of its own: no map, no radius, no coordinates, no distance. It passes your text to Etsy’s own shop-location filter and reports what comes back. A shop’s stated location is what the seller entered, and Etsy’s parsing of it is Etsy’s.

So a result is not a promise that a maker is close to you, that they are the only one, or that the list is complete. Nothing here has verified any seller’s location, and no warranty is given that any of it is accurate, current or fit for any purpose.

Your account

• You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with and for keeping access to it.
• Watching a place tells nobody anything — not the makers, not Etsy. It is a private list, and using it to monitor a person rather than to find work you want to buy is not what it is for.
• You may delete everything at any time from the account page, which erases it immediately. See What is stored.

If you are a seller

Only your shop name, id and public link are held — the same three things on the front of your shop page. If you would rather not be surfaced here, say so and your shop will be excluded, without argument.

Availability

This is a small service run by one developer. It may be unavailable, may miss a daily look, and may be discontinued — in which case you will be told at the address on the account and the stored data will be deleted. No uptime is promised, and a missed maker is not compensable.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reach another person’s places, disrupt the service, or use it in a way that breaches Etsy’s own terms. Accounts doing any of these may be closed without notice.

Etsy

handmade near me uses the Etsy Open API under Etsy’s API Terms of Use, reading public listing data only. It is an independent application: not made by Etsy, not endorsed by Etsy, not certified by Etsy, and not affiliated with Etsy. Shops, listings, locations, prices and purchases are governed by Etsy’s terms, not by these. Access to Etsy data may be changed or withdrawn at any time, which would stop this service working.

Changes

These terms may change. Material changes will be sent to the address on the account. Continuing to use the service after a change is acceptance of it.
